Overview

Established by Tannus Kawar, the late 19th century mayor of Nazareth, to provide insight into the way people lived in Nazareth in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The El-Sibbat House of Folklore Museum is located in a structure that belonged to the wealthy former mayor.

See the collection of housewares and tools including kitchenware, clothing and jewelry. View a lodging room, a woman’s living room and visit the cafeteria to taste authentic food and beverages. Stop by the souvenir shop that sells earthenware vessels and antiques .

Note: It is recommended to call ahead to confirm opening hours and directions to the museum.

The group cost is 700 NIS for a full guided tour (2 hours) and 10 NIS per person.

The Musmar Pottery Factory Visitor’s Center otherwise known as Pahort, Fakhoret Musmar is based in Nazareth.

Explore the family-run Musmar Pottery Factory, founded by Hannah Saeed Musmar in 1919, and the Visitors Center, where you learn about making pottery. Hear explanations about clay, the work methods, utensils and machinery used. Participate in a workshop where you make your own clay pot, and eat meals from clay dishes.

 Note:

  • The admission cost for adults, children, seniors, and students is 30 NIS for the 2 hour workshop.
  • The cost without the workshop is 25 NIS. The price includes Arab sweets and coffee
