The 10 acre Ashkeluna Water Park on the shores of Ashkelon includes water amusements for the entire family. The Hafetz Haim (a.k.a. Hafetz Hayim or Chofetz Chaim) Water Park is the only water amusement park in Israel with separate swimming for men and women. Hafetz Haim offers a junior Olympic sized pool, a giant wave pool, three different types of slides and a fast tubing route.

Small children can enjoy a shallow pool, three small slides and a covered water-mushroom fountain.  Nearby is the Luna amusement park with a roller coaster, space ride, train ride, trampoline, bumper cars and a young children’s car ride.

Families can meet in a shaded picnic area and buy glatt kosher food at the snack bar or order take out food from the new Kfar Tsippori Hotel restaurant which is kosher badatz eidas haredit – Jerusalem. The hotel is under new management and the water park, amusement park and hotel have all undergone extensive renovation in the past year.

Other attractions at Kibbutz Hafetz Haim are Chava’s Farm and the Model of the Mishkan which is a large model of the portable Tabernacle the Israelites carried with them during their 40 years of travel through the wilderness.

At Chava’s Farm, children can see ibexes, gazelles, ostriches, turkeys, chickens and cows as well as monkeys and parrots. Children can hold and pet the bunny rabbits and baby chickens as well as milk the goats and feed the animals. There are ponies and camels to ride and they can even sit on a giant tortoise. Don’t miss the train ride around the farm, baking pitot bread and sending messages via the homing pigeon.

Note:

• Separate swimming hours:  In August half of the day is for men and the other half for women – the times may vary so it is advised to call the park.
• The amusement park is included in the price and  is open to men during women’s swimming hours and vice versa.

Overview

Hamat Gader, a 40 acre park on the south eastern part of the Kinneret, is Israel’s oldest and largest Spa.  Explore ancient Roman baths or relax in thermal mineral pools circulating every four hours at a temperature of 42 degrees Celsius.  Enjoy the Jacuzzi beds and chairs, water jets, a hot waterfall and a bubble pool.
